Description
PORT CHESTER, NY — 'Tis the season for giving back to your community. There are a number of ways that you and your family can help out and help others.
Every day through Christmas, Patch will be highlighting a way you can provide compassion and resources to those in need.
Volunteer New York! makes it easy to find ways to help — through donations, supporting nonprofits and even volunteering at home.
Today's opportunity is a Coat Drive for Children in Need. The Sharing Shelf distributes more than 1,500 coats each winter to children from newborn through age 19. Volunteers are asked to donate new and gently used winter coats in sizes infant to adult XL (teen styles).
The organization said there is an urgent need for new hats and gloves for infants, toddlers and small children.
