Description

PORT CHESTER, NY — 'Tis the season for giving back to your community. There are a number of ways that you and your family can help out and help others. Every day through Christmas, Patch will be highlighting a way you can provide compassion and resources to those in need. Volunteer New York! makes it easy to find ways to help — through donations, supporting nonprofits and even volunteering at home. Today's opportunity is Make a Healthy Hygiene Kit for a Young Child. The Sharing Shelf needs volunteers to create hygiene kits for young children containing items such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo and conditioner. The items should be packaged in a large zip-close baggie or cellophane bag. It can be personalized to the child. For more information, including exact items and where they should be dropped off, go here.
