Description

SOUTH HILL, WA — Nearby residents are being asked to avoid a South Hill neighborhood, as firefighters mop up a house fire in the area. Central Pierce Fire & Rescue First reported the blaze at around 4:20 p.m., saying its crews had responded to a house on fire near the intersection of Sunrise Blvd and 128th Ave E. Several other homes were briefly threatened by the blaze, but firefighters say they've managed to contain the fire to the initial home, and there is no danger to the community. None of the home's residents were injured. Crews expect to remain on scene putting out hotspots and shoring up fire defenses for several hours, so they are asking everyone to avoid the area if possible.
