ORANGE, CT — The Amity Region 5 Board of Education appointed Frank Purcaro as the district's new assistant superintendent. Purcaro's new role will be effective July 1. Purcaro has been a teacher, assistant principal and director of student learning and teaching. He was also an assistant superintendent in the Wolcott school district. Purcaro is currently the director of teaching and learning for Newtown Public Schools.
