ARLINGTON, VA — The Arlington County Police Department is investigating a series of incidents Tuesday morning that included tampering with cars and two vehicles getting stolen.
Several vehicles were rummaged through in the Glencarlyn area of Arlington Tuesday morning, with the suspects stealing items from at least one car, according to police.
About 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Arlington Police were dispatched to the report of a vehicle tampering in the 5500 block of 3rd Street S. A woman saw two males attempt to enter into her vehicle. When she yelled, the suspects fled the scene in a silver SUV, police said.
Police determined that the suspects had entered into and rummaged through about four vehicles and stole personal items from one of the vehicles before they were spotted by the woman.
The two suspects are described as tall, unknown race males with skinny builds, wearing dark clothing and masks, police said.
Also, Arlington Police said Wednesday that two vehicles were stolen in different parts of the county. The tampering with cars and the stolen vehicles are being investigated as a series, police said.
A silver Honda CRV, with the Virginia license plate UDE1466, was stolen from the 5600 block of 8th Street N. in the Bluemont area. The other vehicle, a gray 2015 Acura RDX with the Virginia license plate WTARUSH, was stolen from the 2900 block of 24th Street N. near Lorcom Lane in Arlington, police said.
