Description
PISCATAWAY, NJ — Please join Middlesex County as it celebrates History Day at East Jersey Old Town Village this Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
History Day 2022 will take place at East Jersey Old Town Village, which is a historic 18th century Colonial America Village in Piscataway. The village is comprised of reconstructed and replica 18th and 19th century structures that represent architecture typical of farm and merchant communities once found in the Raritan Valley.
Buildings include a tavern, blacksmith shop, wheelwright shop, schoolhouse, barracks, church, the homes of early settlers and other outbuildings.
There will be a variety of family-friendly activities going on that day, including vintage baseball, Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers, historic gardening and agriculture and stone carving. Their 19th Century Print Shop will be open, plus home and hearth demonstrations, music, horse-drawn wagon rides through Johnson Park, food trucks, children's crafts and much more.
In partnership with REPLENISH, the East Jersey Old Town Village will also be collecting nutritious food for residents in need. If you would like to help, please bring a non-perishable food item when attending the History Day event.
