Here are the top five stories in Myrtle Beach today: More than a decade after the disappearance of Rochester, New York teen, Brittanee Drexel, a person of interest in the case has been arrested and charged with obstruction of justice. Raymond Douglas Moody of Georgetown was arrested earlier this month. It is not clear whether the charges are in connection with the Drexel case. Drexel vanished from the Blue Water Inn in Myrtle Beach in 2009 while here on spring break with a group of classmates. Moody was listed as a person of interest in the case in 2012, but investigators are being mum on current details. (CBS17.com) (wpde.com)Four Jamaican nationals have been sentenced in connection with a lottery telemarketing scam that operated out of Myrtle Beach. The four are headed to federal prison, after evidence showed that more than $300,000 was taken from more than 60 elderly victims. The Department of Homeland Security and the US Postal Service were involved in the investigation. Once they've served their sentences, they will have court-ordered supervision for another three years. Also, they've been ordered to pay $350,000 in restitution to the victims. (WMBF) Myrtle Beach City Council came to some decisions at this week's meeting. The council has agreed to immediately change review times for Myrtle Beach developments from ten business days to ten calendar days. (Myhorrynews) Taxi drivers in the city can now charge higher fares. (WBTW) The city voted unanimously for partnerships with surrounding law enforcement agencies ahead of the busy Memorial Day weekend and summer season. (WBTW) The quiet community of Socastee is in shock over the shooting death of a neighborhood woman earlier this week. On Monday, HCPD responded to a call off Leste Road after it was reported that a person inside a home was possibly deceased. Medical personnel found 58-year-old Teresa Lischer dead. Lischer was a registered nurse and mother to two sons. Police are investigating the death as a homicide. An autopsy has been scheduled. (WMBF)Conway Medical Center has made an historic $10 million donation to Coastal Carolina University — the largest donation CCU has ever received. The university's newest college will be named the Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance, and will focus on public health, nursing, health administration, sports science, and recreation and sports management programs. Some of the donation will also go towards Chanticleer Athletic Foundation to support the university's sports programs.
