WARWICK, RI — Warwick police said they arrested an East Greenwich man on Tuesday they said robbed a Harbor One Bank. Paul Edward Larson, 60, was charged with second-degree robbery and will be arraigned Wednesday in 3rd District Court in Warwick. Around 8:30 a.m., police were called to the Harbor One Bank at 3830 Post Road. Two employees told officers they secured themselves in the vault after providing an undisclosed amount of cash to the Larson, police said. Police said the employees told officers Larson entered the bank and passed a note demanding cash. Larson did not say anything and didn't show a weapon, police said. One of the employees provided the Larson with the cash, at which time the two employees retreated to the vault, fearing for their own safety, according to police. Police said there were no customers in the bank during the robbery. Warwick police said the Rhode Island Department of Corrections helped them identify Larson as the suspect. Officers went to an address in Warwick to try to find Larson, but were unsuccessful. But a little after 3:30 p.m. police said they found Larson on the patio of the Cumberland Farms at 3335 Post Road and arrested him without incident.
