Tenzin Lhaze, Design Coordinator, Missoula County Fairgrounds My current position at the Fairgrounds lends itself from my childhood love of the visual arts. I have always believed that storytelling and design have an amazing way of sparking conversation and bringing people together. Being the design coordinator for the Fairgrounds, I get the opportunity to not only tell our story but also find creative ways to communicate information. If you've ever physically been on the Fairgrounds, you will see my work in the various signage around the grounds. More recently, I developed our building maps that we provide to our renters. I also maintain our website and social media, put together the occasional presentation and attend to the day-to-day needs of the Fair office. When the Missoula County Fairgrounds approaches the Fair, I shift gears towards Fair planning and execution. Besides our physical and digital advertising and signage, I also perform a lot of community outreach. This entails generating ideas, networking with community partners and executing different programs. For example, this year we will be working with different community organizations to bring free pre-Fair classes to the public to bridge creativity and accessibility. Throughout the work that I do for the Fairgrounds, I do my best to maintain our brand integrity (visually and otherwise), as well as applying my creative lens to every project. I love that my job often requires me to think outside the box, and I feel proud of the work I do to help create a welcoming space for all Missoula County residents. Outside of work, I enjoy the company of my partner and two cats. I love exploring new places, learning new things and continually working on myself. I also enjoy volunteering and currently serve on the board of Soft Landing and Friends of Upward Bound. Additionally, I run a hobby chicken farm and am in the process of turning my lawn into a food jungle for humans and animals alike.
