From the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach: September 13, 2020 By Sophie Through online, virtual platforms, the Mandel Public Library aims to keep middle and high schoolers engaged this fall. Teens and tweens can get help with their homework and projects, prep for the SAT, chat about their favorite books with friends, earn service hours, and more! Virtual Teen Homework Help Mondays – Thursdays, 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Google Meet. The library's Homework Center teachers are here to assist students and support learning virtually through Google Meet. Students will get the chance to ask questions from their homework, work on projects, and prepare for exams with the help of certified teachers. Reading sessions with Mr. Henry are available Monday through Wednesday, and math sessions with Mr. Bowers are available Tuesday through Thursday. In each session, homework help will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. To sign-up, fill out our Google Form. SAT Prep Workshop Series Mondays, September 14 – October 19, 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Google Meet. Whether you've just started high school or you're preparing to graduate this spring, prepare for the SAT with this series covering math, reading, and writing presented by Path to College Fellowship. Sessions are held on Google Meet. Register here. Virtual Teen Advisory Board Twice monthly, beginning Tuesday, September 15, 4:00 – 5:00 PM on Zoom. For teens in need of service hours for school, or just wanting to give back, the TAB is going virtual. Work on blog posts, social media projects, book trailers, and more to earn hours and promote teen services at the library, all while socializing with your fellow teens. Meetings take place live on Zoom. Registration is required, and you can do so here. Virtual Teen Book Club Monthly, beginning Thursday, September 17, 4:00 – 5:00 PM on Zoom. Whether you're an avid reader or a bookworm, join our Virtual Teen Book Club to discuss all things YA with fellow teens. We'll vote on the books we read, and all titles will be available through hoopla digital, where there are no holds or late fees.
