Press release from the City of Minnetonka: May 9, 2022 May is Mental Health Awareness Month – an opportunity to provide support for people living with a mental illness. In recent years, our department has seen an uptick in mental health calls. In 2021, the department's Mental Health Unit responded to 400 mental health calls, up from 168 in 2011. We are fortunate in Minnetonka to have many free resources available to adults and children needing assistance. Hennepin County COPE: 612-596-1223 Available for adults 18 or older living in Hennepin County. Hennepin County Child Crisis: 612-348-2233 Available for children living in Hennepin County Relate Counseling and ICA Food Shelf offer free counseling every Thursday from 9-11 a.m. Sessions take place in a private room at ICA Food Shelf or over the phone. Schedule an appointment 952-932-7277 Hennepin County Walk in Counseling Center: walkin.org Counseling services are free and anonymous, with no appointment needed.
