OSWEGO, IL — Kendall County Sheriff's Office deputies helped rescue two dogs Tuesday after a few community members reached out to the agency letting them know the furry friends were in need of care and attention. Deputies responded to a residence in the 00 block of Circle Drive East in the Boulder Hill subdivision where the two dogs were located on Tuesday evening. While officials didn't specify the dogs' situation, they said "we are happy to report that both dogs have been rescued from the house with the assistance of Kendall County Animal Control." Both dogs — one a pit bull and the other a shepherd mix, according to Deputy Dan Briars — were given "much-needed" food, water, treats, ear scratches and belly rubs, officials said. A veterinarian will check out the dogs too, and "they'll hopefully get a clean bill of health." "We wanted to thank the members of the community for bringing this situation to our attention," officials said. "While these cases can take some time to fully investigate, we will continue to keep everyone apprised of the status of the criminal investigation, and the status of our two new furry friends."
