EDINA, MN — Edina lawyer Jarvis Jones has thrown his hat into the crowded race to become the next Hennepin County attorney, according to reports.
Jones, who is a former president of the Minnesota State Bar Association, announced his candidacy May 5 ahead of a virtual candidate forum, which he did not participate in, Kim Hyatt of the Star Tribune reported.
Jones is the seventh person to enter the race to succeed Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, who is set to retire after serving as the county's top prosecutor for almost a quarter-century.
