CARLSBAD, CA — Police have arrested a man suspected of sexually battering multiple women over the past year at a Carlsbad mall. Brandon Cabrera, 18, of Carlsbad was arrested on suspicion of sexually battering women at The Shoppes at Carlsbad at 2525 El Camino Real, the Carlsbad Police Department announced Tuesday. The first case happened last May at The Shoppes at Carlsbad, where a woman reported Cabrera approached her from behind and sexually battered her, police said. Another woman reported Cabrera followed her around Macy's in February, walked up behind her and grabbed an unspecified part of her body, police said. He then ran from the area. A third woman reported Cabrera followed her around the mall and to her car on May 2. He grabbed an unspecified part of her body, police said. The victim chased Cabrera, but he escaped. Police detained Cabrera Friday with the assistance of The Shoppes at Carlsbad and Macy's employees. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of three separate counts of sexual battery.
