Press release from East Aurora School District 131:
AURORA, IL — "The Imagination Project" arts initiative, sponsored by the Chicago Sun-Times, seeks to showcase artwork from talented Chicago-area students.
Students in elementary, middle, and high school were able to create their own interpretation of this season's competition theme, "Spring Ahead." Drawings, paintings, or digital creations were welcome, with all winners given the opportunity for their artwork to be displayed in the Sun-Times newspaper in print and online.
This year, one of the winners at the high school level was one of East Aurora's own.
Sophomore Linnea Holtz was recognized for her artwork. She is one of the top 10 students awarded out of 130 high school submissions throughout the Chicago suburbs.
Holtz is a first-year Digital Photography student at East High and submitted an independent piece of digital art using the PixArt app.
Kudos to Linnea as well as her instructor, Rhonda Kinster at East Aurora High School. Many of Ms. Kinster's students have been recognized in community and area art contests, proving the creative reach of our EA community!
