UPPER EAST SIDE — It's haunted, but more importantly, it's not cool. That's what Mayor Eric Adams said Tuesday during an interview on the Yankees' YES Network when host Michael Kay said of Gracie Mansion, "That doesn't seem cool enough for you." "No, it's not. Trust me. Trust me," Adams replied. "And I don't care what anyone says, there are ghosts in there, man." Here's how that conversation continued, transcript courtesy of City Hall: [Cameron] Maybin: We just had a conversation about ghosts yesterday. I've been in some haunted buildings in my life. I'm not interested in revisiting those. Mayor Adams: Yeah. Kay: Now, you see stuff moving there [crosstalk]. Mayor Adams: All the time, man. All the time. Maybin: You hear footsteps and all types of stuff? Mayor Adams: Listen, they're creeping around. This was not the only time this week Adams faced questioning about his place of residence. At a recent charity event, comedian John Mulaney sassed Adams about his fear of "subway barbecues" and the ongoing debate during his campaign about whether or not he was an actual resident of New York. "I love Mayor Adams," Mulaney quipped. "He's done so much good for the city that he's thinking of moving here."
