PHOENIX, AZ —Police on Tuesday arrested Joshua Bagley, who is accused of strangling a woman to death on a Phoenix city bus last week, according to authorities. CBS 5 reported that Bagley, 26, was taken into custody near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road after police received a call about a suspicious person in the area. Bagley faces homicide charges, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. Bagley was wanted in connection with the death of Diane Craig, 41, whom police said was found not breathing at around 8 a.m. last Thursday on a bus in the 7600 block of South 27th Avenue. Police said that there were signs that Craig had been strangled. At the time, Bagley was considered a suspect in the case, and police asked for the public's help in locating him. According to ABC 15, Bagley had been in Maricopa County Jail just three days before the alleged attack on the bus. But Bagley was able to walk out of jail due to a litany of mistakes and miscommunication, the station reported. ABC 15 reported that, according to an arrest report, Bagley had been arrested by Goodyear police a week before the strangling. The report stated Bagley had been in a stolen car, and that he threw a meth pipe out the window when officers pulled him over.
