TUSCALOOSA, AL — Shelton State Community College is in the market for a new head men's basketball coach, following Joe Eatmon's transition from coach to the college's Dean of Community Relations. In a job posting on Wednesday, SSCC said the new coach will be expected to "successfully recruit, sign, and instruct players that are capable of playing their sport on the collegiate level while maintaining the academic standards established by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Shelton State Community College (SSCC)." The college stressed that management skills are necessary for such tasks as handling budgets, scheduling travel, and submitting reports. According to the online job listing, the position pays an annual salary between $62,437 and $91,215. In terms of required qualification, applicants must posses a bachelor's degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution in addition to basketball coaching/playing experience.
