Description
EAST HILLS, NY — A car crashed Thursday morning on the eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway, closing multiple lanes and jamming traffic for miles.
The crash happened on slick roads near Exit 39 for Glen Cove Road, according to the state Department of Transportation's 511NY website. Nassau County traffic officials said around 9:40 a.m. that a vehicle had overturned.
The eastbound side was reduced to a single lane and drivers were told to expect major delays in the area. Two lanes were closed until around 10:20 a.m. Thursday.
All lanes appeared to reopen around 10:30 a.m.
