PLAINVIEW, NY — Heads up drivers: the eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway near Plainview will be reduced to a single lane from Monday night until Tuesday morning.
The high-occupancy, left and center lanes will close at 9 p.m. Monday while crews perform maintenance work on the bridge over Round Swamp Road, transportation officials said. The lanes will reopen around 6 a.m. Tuesday.
The service road will remain open during the work. Electronic signs will relay additional information near the work zone.
Drivers should slow down and drive carefully through work zones, where fines are doubled for speeding. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in a suspended driver license.
