TEMPLE TERRACE, FL — A King High School senior was surprised with an $8,000 Florida Prepaid Scholarship by her band teacher and Florida Teacher of the Year, Dakeyan Graham. As part of his prize for winning Teacher of the Year, the King High School band teacher was asked to choose a student to receive the scholarship. He chose Bianca Mateo. "It is just such an incredible opportunity to be able to bless her and present her with an opportunity to further her education and get closer to reaching her goals and desires."Mateo wants to attend the University of Florida to study biochemistry.
