Adams County Public Works is seeking an Engineering Technician in Ritzville. Please note: Applicant must submit a completed job application form. Job Description Duties include inspection of county roads, bridges, crushing projects, drainage structures; design of county roads, bridges and crushing projects; survey of county roads, bridges and related property; maintenance of the various county databases; and other duties as assigned. Skills • Perform physically demanding labor in all weather conditions • Operate computerized equipment and required software packages • Knowledge of the methods and equipment involved in engineering and land surveying • Knowledge of current literature, trends, and developments as applied to road and bridge construction • Knowledge of engineering and mathematical principles • Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications Requirements • Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License • Position requires a Flagging and Traffic Control card within 90 days of employment. AND • Associates Degree in Engineering or related field • Two years of progressively responsible work experience in engineering and inspection of bridges and road construction OR • Four years of progressively responsible work experience in engineering and inspection of bridges and road construction at a level judged by the County Engineer to be an acceptable substitute.
