PLAINVIEW, NY — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories. This submission comes from Karen Serani, who nominated Paula Serani-Esposito. Name: Paula Serani-Esposito State: NY Hometown: Plainview Hero's job: Health Care Relationship to nominee: Sister Reason for recognition: Paula is a social worker for Nassau County EAP. After a 20 lb. liposarcoma was removed @ Sloan Kettering, she recovered and continued helping others. Diagnosed w/ sarcoidosis & other immune diseases, she navigated COVID-19 for patient care risking her life. One thing to know: Determined, courageous, selfless, loving, dedicated, undaunted.
