Description
Formals, a Rogers based psychedelic rock band that covers tons of ground, genre-wise, is looking for a full time sax player to join our lineup. Our bassist is a state renowned first chair player who has played sax for our albums and occasionally live, but he wants to stay with bass and we need a full time sax player. If you can play keys or guitar as well, it’s a perk as there may be parts where you could utilize another instrument. But mostly we just want a sax player who can improvise, play numerous styles/genres and write original, tasteful parts with ease. We improvise a good bit but don’t sound like a band that would do so. We don’t gig super frequently(around 6-8 gigs per year give or take) but we always have good turnouts and our shows are always a blast! We are basically like a modern Beatles/Pink Floyd, emotionally engaging rock songs with hints of fuzz/heaviness and the occasional funky breakdown added in. We are working on finishing our second record at East Hall, and if I find the right person soon, I’ll let them go do some sax parts on a few songs so you’re on the record. The bassist already laid down some gold but we can fit a few more.
Oh yea, I own a pretty decent baritone sax you can use as well.
