Description
I'm a guitarist of a quarter century. Looking for people to start a band...I really dig Punch Brothers. I wouldn't mind having a more acoustic-based band eventho I only have electric guitars. Chris Thile is my hero...but so is Paul Waggoner from Between the Buried and Me...so yeah. I like the idea of not having a drummer...or having more of a percussionist. Punch Brothers venture off into the quietest areas of music...I want to do that.(If you haven't heard Familiarity, it's a masterpiece.) I just don't want a drummer that needs to be the loudest person on the planet. I love Metal but I'm more intrigued by Jazz trios. I don't even use distortion much anymore.
I guess it'd be nice to find an acoustic guitarist, a mandolinist, bass, keys? a drummer?, maybe a singer or rapper, cello?...I dunno. When I practice guitar, I'll play anything from Classical to funk bass style. One minute it's Death Metal the next Motown. I can do all the sweeps and tapping that the kids are doing. (Ha...youth. I'm only 39.) I'm from Wayne county so my playing can sound Midwest Emo-ish. I like the Punks and Skas. The Progs and whatnots. I have an ICP tattoo. I guess we're all pretty well-rounded these days.
So I don't know what genre I'm looking to play. Mellow isn't the right word, neither is quiet. It seems like a lot of musicians are coming out of left field and making music that is relatable and not just weird Art Rock. I wanna do that.
Here are a couple tracks I've recorded recently. Nothin special, but it's what I've done recently.
