Hiring energetic and motivated individuals to join our team as Canvassers to collect signatures with Oceana in an effort to push Amazon to be more transparent in its plastic usage and make a plan to reduce it. - $25/hr. - $2 per signature bonus. - Gas / parking compensation. - We pay weekly. - Flexible schedules. Amazon does not disclose how much plastic packaging it uses, but it's estimated Amazon generated about 599 million pounds of plastic waste in 2020, and more than 20 million pounds of this ended up in the world’s waterways and seas. Without immediate action, plastic flows in the world’s oceans could triple by 2040. Canvassers will be collecting signatures from Amazon shareholders pledging to vote for a resolution at the upcoming shareholder meeting. If passed, the resolution will require the company to disclose how much plastic is used in their packaging and make a plan for how to reduce it.
