TAMPA, FL — The Tampa Bay Lightning will join The Florida Aquarium in celebrating the team's Game 5 win Monday and advancement to the Eastern Conference Final with a shark tank dive by Lightning alum and 2004 Stanley Cup captain, Dave Andreychuk. The event Thursday starting at 2 p.m. will include the unveiling of the manta ray statue wearing the official Lightning face mask in front of the aquarium at 701 Channelside Drive. Afterward, The Florida Aquarium's costumed mascot, Tango, will take Lightning mascot Thunder Bug on a tour of the aquarium followed by a game of coral reef tunnel hockey, a dive to the bottom of the loggerhead sea turtles coral reef by aquarium divers wearing Lightning jerseys and carrying a Lightning flag, and Andreychuk's dive into the shark tank. The events are open to Florida Aquarium visitors with a reservation and ticket purchase. After winning against the Boston Bruins 3-2 in Game 3, 3-1 in Game 4 and 3-2 during a double overtime Game 5 Monday at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, the Lightning advanced to the 2020 Eastern Conference Final. Ondrej Palat led the Lightning with five goals during the five-game series, earning him the title of Tampa General Hospital Player of the Week. Together, Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov led the offensive until Monday night when Kucherov was felled by Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara's high stick in the first period. No surprises here. The Lightning is expected to give an update on Kucherov's injury today. His loss would be a major blow to the Lightning on top of the absence of Steven Stamkos who hasn't returned to the Lightning's lineup since Feb. 25 due to a lower-body core muscle injury. The Bolts now await the winner of Thursday's game between the Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Islanders.
