Teach in on NWL activist Jenny Brown's book Birth Strike: The Hidden Fight Over Women's Work Join NWL for a teach in on NWL activist Jenny Brown's Birth Strike: The Hidden Fight Over Women's Work.Legislative attacks on abortion are heating up across the country, and the recent leaked draft ruling revealed that the Supreme Court is likely to overturn Roe v. Wade this summer. If Roe v. Wade is overturned, 26 states are certain or likely to ban abortion this year (PEW). Join NWL on Saturday, June 25 from 12pm-1pm for a teach in exploring the hidden reasons why abortion is under attack and how we can successfully organize a mass movement to fight back. All are welcome to attend regardless of whether you have read the book. “Birth Strike is a well-researched and wide-ranging analysis of how the public responsibilities of pregnancy and parenting have been privatized to benefit a capitalist for-profit system designed to minimize labor costs to produce wealth for the few. Offers fresh insight into how women’s biological power may be harnessed to resist reproductive oppression.”—Loretta J. Ross, author, Reproductive Justice: An Introduction and editor, Radical Reproductive Justice.--- NWL meetings are open to all women and trans* people who do not benefit from male supremacy, because we believe we should lead the fight for our liberation.
