Description
We've had the pleasure of having Jack and Jefferson for over a month now. What turned into a bunny-sitting situation seems to be permanent as we agreed to watch them while they moved but were duped into owning them.
That isn't to say they aren't fun pets, however. We happen to have cats and chinchillas. The chinchillas are currently sharing their cage with the bunnies and largely sticking to the upper floors to avoid drama (they're older females, 10 and 11 years old). The bunnies free-roam and actually use the litter boxes which is pretty neat, so they're really easy to take care of. It has just disrupted our normal animal flow and we never intended on adopting bunnies. They get along well with our cats. In fact, I think our cats are a little mystified by them and feel somewhat intimidated, thus the bunnies have the lay of the land.
They are both under 2 to my knowledge and we named them ourselves. There's a black and white male named Jack and a totally white one with blue eyes named Jefferson after Jefferson Airplane's classic 60s hit "White Rabbit." Jefferson is a female. Neither are fixed so they're great if you intend on setting up a rabbit farm.
Ideally they'll go together. They're both low maintanence, can be pet and held, don't bite and just love them some carrots outside their usual rabbit pellets.
