You are invited to attend the First Annual - Walking The Path with The Buddha Retreat held in Washington, DC to learn and practice. You are invited to attend the First Annual - Walking The Path with The Buddha Retreat held in Washington, DC to learn and practice The Teachings of The Buddha on The Path to Enlightenment through interactive group discussions, guided meditations, and excursions to integrate these Teachings into your life practice.(All events during the retreat are offered openly and freely to any and all participates, including children and families, at no cost. Students are welcome to attend events during the retreat based on their own needs and interests.) Each day, the retreat will start with the opportunity for you to participate in an innovative alignment yoga class preparing the body and mind for the day ahead. Then, guided meditation instruction will be offered to learn Breathing Mindfulness Meditation and Loving-kindness Meditation in the seated and walking positions. A morning session will offer in-depth talks on The Path to Enlightenment based on The Teachings of The Buddha to guide you to learn how to develop your life practice towards the attainment of Enlightenment where the mind will be peaceful, calm, serene, and content with joy - permanently. Daily excursions will be offered to visit locations such as the National Air & Space Museum, United States Botanical Garden, Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, and a guided tour of a local Thai Buddhist Temple. It is suggested that Students integrate The Teachings from the morning session into their day through practicing The Teachings throughout the day. An evening session will offer guided meditations with an opportunity to discuss and clarify Teachings from the morning session while exploring additional topics on The Path to Enlightenment. The retreat is offered at no cost to all those with a sincere interest to learn and practice The Teachings of The Buddha on The Path to Enlightenment. In order to offer this event at no cost, donations are needed to support the cost of hosting our Teachers to travel to the USA from Thailand. Donations are needed for airfare, lodging, food, the cost of renting the venue for the event and a modest gift to the Teachers for their generosity to travel and share these Teachings with us.
