IMPACT Community Dance Workshop Series is a combination of several weekenders to connect the community with dance and Colorado College! About Eddie Amaya's "Bachata Workshop" is the 2nd of 5 workshops inside our “Community Impact Dance Arts Movement” Program being sponsored and hosted by Professor Naomi Pueo Wood and Colorado College. The initiatives of this program are as follows: Increase the level of technical and experienced dancers inside the Colorado Springs community.Connect scholarly community with the local community in hopes of having us work together as a strong unit.Provide the community with easy access to professional dance training. To take all proceeds and provide scholarships to underprivileged applicants a professional dance education through "The Dancing Prism Project" organized by Latisha Hardy Dance & Co Ltd. Schedule for the weekend: 6 hours of Bachata dance training in the following format: Workshop #1 Friday, July 8, 2022 (6:30p-8:30p): Fundamental & Technical trainingWorkshop #2 Saturday, July 9, 2022 (10:00a-12:00p): Partnerwork Workshop #3 Saturday, July 9, 2022 (1:00p-3:00p): FootworkAhorita Salsa Bachata Social: 7:00p-12:00aAhorita Salsa Bachata Social will be held at Epiphany COS 32 S Tejon St Colorado Springs, CO 80903. He is the owner of Que Candela Dance Company and trains in Bachata | Salsa | Hip Hop | Contemporary | & More! He believes in transcending individuals into artists through the understanding and appreciation of culture in becoming something bigger than themselves. About Naomi Pueo Wood Professor Naomi Pueo Wood is co-collaborating on this project as a scholar of Latin American and Performance Studies, founder of CC Mobile Arts, community organizer, Latisha Hardy Ladies Dance Team member and holder of the NEH Distinguished Teaching Professorship in the Humanities. About Latisha Hardy Dance & Co Ltd Latisha Hardy Dance & Co Ltd. was established in 2010. Latisha started creating this brand after learning salsa roughly 13 years ago. Salsa helped her grow past a difficult time. The goal has always been to give that back to others. The dance floor is the only place she feels she can truly express herself. Her goal today is to empower the world to empower themselves through the art of dance.
