Mozart Piano Quartet in E flat Major, KV 493 Brahms Piano Quartet No.1 in G Minor, Op.25 Cellist Bonnie Black has played on stages around the world, appearing in a multitude of roles as chamber musician, concerto soloist, member of folk and fiddle bands, and orchestral player. As a passionate leader of aspiring musicians of all ages, she has also served as artistic director, conductor, and master teacher for many successful programs, including the Harlem School of the Arts, the Harlem Children’s Orchestra, the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, New England Conservatory, and Boston University. Honored by Boston Magazine as being named one of Boston’s 100 most influential women, Ms. Black has devoted much of her life’s work to building powerful programs for youth and communities, helping people young and old use their musical and creative energies to make the world a better place. ZhongLing Li has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in her native China as well as in the US and Europe. She is the exclusive winner of the 2006 Arthur W. Foote Award from the Harvard Musical Association. In May 2005, Ms. Li was awarded the Dan David Prize for Performing Arts in Israel, dedicated to only 20 people in the world with proven and exceptional excellence in sciences, arts, and humanities. She made her solo debut with the Boston Pops in May 2004 as the winner of the Boston University Soloists’ Competition. Ms. Li holds both a Doctoral and a Master of Music degree from Boston University, where she studied with Prof. Dana Mazurkevich. During her studies at Boston University she was awarded distinctions such as the Grand Prize in the 2001 Bach Competition and recognition as an Outstanding Student in 2004. Ms. Li received her Bachelor of Music degree from Shanghai Conservatory, where she was a winner of both the Shanghai Bach and Mozart Competitions. Ms. Li is a former member of the China National Symphony Orchestra, with whom she toured extensively throughout Europe and Asia. She previously taught at Northeastern University Music Department. A collaborative pianist, Keun Young Sun, began her piano studies at age 5. After she received her bachelor's degree in piano performance from Kei-Myung University, Korea. Dr. Sun came to the United States in 1996 to study with Veronica Jochum and Irma Vallecillo at the New England Conservatory of Music, where she graduated with two master's degrees in solo piano performance and collaborative piano. Dr. Sun has been performing as a collaborative pianist as well as a solo pianist in numerous venues, including the Benedict Music Tent in aspen; Williams Hall, Jordan Hall, and Brown Hall in Boston; Citizen Arts Center Great Hall, Daegu, Korea; Rudolph Ganz Hall in Chicago; and Universita degli di verona, Vereona, Italy. As an active collaborative pianist, she founded the Eclatant Piano Trio and Boston Piano Ensemble, and gave numerous chamber music recitals in the U.S. she also collaborates with faculty members at the Endicott college, the New England Conservatory of Music's Preparatory Division, and other musicians. As a scholarship recipient, she went to the Aspen Music Festival in 2005, where she worked with such acclaimed musicians as Anthony Eliot, Rita Sloan, and Peter Oundjian. She also played for numerous master classes, including those of Menahem Pressler, Dong-Il Han, Gilbert Kalish, Jonathan Feldman, Pamela Frank, Yehuda Hanani, Misao Kawasaki, Edgar Meyer and the Muir String Quartet. Dr. Sun received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Boston University in 2010, where she was recipient of the dean's scholarship and a graduate assistantship. She is a faculty at the Concord Conservatory of Music, a staff pianist at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, a music director at the First Calvary Baptist Church in North Andover, and an artistic director of the FCBC Concert Series.
