Julia is a beautiful 13 year-old girl. She currently stands about 33 INCHES TALL and has a heart of gold and big dreams! Julia is ready to go in for her a medically necessary surgery to improve her quality of life at the end of June 2022. Once again, medical expenses and an extended leave from work put Julia’s family at-risk for expenses they cannot afford. It is Julia’s wish to be able to be like her family and friends and to live the most normal life possible. Julia was born with Escobar Syndrome and had a tough start at life. At birth she was in the NICU for approximately four months to help stabilize her clinical diagnosis of failure to thrive. Julia had multiple contractures in her legs, arms, back, neck, fingers, and toes. She left the hospital with a GI tube to help her maintain nutrition and an orthopedic consult that resulted in wrapping her legs to help minimize the contractures in her knees and increase mobility for when it came time for her to be able to crawl and walk.
