Rivertown experts Jessica, founder of Bloomy, and Janxel, Crespo’s resident wine expert are teaming up for the ultimate pairing of cheese and wines. You may have shopped with them or spotted the write-up in the new & noteworthy section of River Journal! In this 90-minute workshop, they'll guide us through four rounds of impeccable-tasting cheeses with complimentary wines. We'll learn what sets them apart and hear about the innovative methods used to create them. Expect to leave the class with an understanding of the unique flavor profiles and the best way to indulge. Meet Bloomy Bloomy owner Jessica Galen has loved cheese from a young age, and assisted in cheese caves and for a raw milk farmstead cheesemaker while in graduate school for Food Studies at NYU. She later managed Lucy's Whey, then the Upper East Side's largest artisan cheese shop. Through these roles she developed a deep appreciation for the tireless work of farmers, cheesemakers and affineurs (cheese agers). She has dedicated her career to supporting independent farming, most recently as Director of Communications at Stone Barns Center. Her cheese shop Bloomy Cheese & Provisions is a pop-up in residence at HudCo in Dobbs Ferry.
