HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Open registration began Aug. 26 for Hillsborough County's popular after-school camps. The programs are offered at various locations throughout the county. The rate for each two-week session is $76. The rate for those with a reduced-price school lunch letter is $60, or $40 for those with a free school lunch letter. Clickk here for more details Due to the coronavirus, the Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation has made changes to its after-school program to ensure the health and safety of children and staff, including reducing the number of spots available and only allowing students in kindergarten through fifth grades. Parks staff will wear face coverings when social distancing is not possible.Daily health/temperature checks will be performed on each participant and each staff member.Hand sanitizer stations will be available at each location, and intensive cleaning protocols will be in place.After-school camp participants will be broken into groups to minimize contact with others; staff will stay with the same group of children each day. Any shared objects will be washed after each use, nightly and on the weekends.Each site will have designated contactless pick-up and drop-off areas.
