Please come join us in the Gallery at Hudson Park Library for a Color and B/W slide show and talk on the Greenwich Village Waterfront. Exhibition, Slide Show and Talk: Greenwich Village Waterfront from 1971 to 2021 by Darleen Rubin, Photographer A photographic exhibition of Greenwich Village people, piers and the waterfront from 1971 to 2021. The Greenwich Village Waterfront provided a vivid backdrop for zany characters and personal artistry, celebrating one of the great harbors of the world. Darleen Rubin is professional photographer who worked as a Photo Editor and Staff Photographer for The Villager documenting the events, streets, and people in Greenwich Village during the early 1970’s. She left The Villager to work for Women’s Wear Daily and W, specializing in fashion, beauty, lifestyle and celebrity portraits. She freelanced for the New York Post Features Department and the Rhode Island School of Design. She worked for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences photographing the Emmy Awards for 10 years. Her work has appeared in numerous books and magazines. Her vast archive includes celebrity portraits such as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, Diana Vreeland, Martha Stewart, Oprah, Halston, JFK, Jr. Laurence Olivier, Mariel Hemingway, Mia Farrow, Donald Trump and many well known authors. She was the stills photographer for the independent film Somebody’s Hero with Christopher Gorham. She presently contributes photographs to documentary films, books and magazines. Darleen’s work has been in 30 exhibitions. This is her 13th solo exhibit. Due to the interest in her Waterfront photographic exhibition at HPL in 2019, the show returns with additional work from her archives not seen before. Please come join us on Saturday, May 21, from 2 - 4PM, in the Gallery at Hudson Park Library for a Color and B/W slide show and talk on the Greenwich Village Waterfront by Darleen Rubin. Exhibition is on view from May 2 - June 30, 2022
