Polyphony UV is a study group of sorts that convenes at various times to sightread and sing polyphonic choral music without accompaniment. We focus on music written before 1750 but will warm up with rounds, catches, chases, fugues and other crunchy choral works of yore. (We have been known to sing the occasional wedding song from the Republic of Georgia.) Singing at this level requires the ability to sightread choral music and a good ear for intonation. Anyone wishing to bring snacks is welcome but there is not running water at the Community Center so bring a water bottle. A composting toilet is in the building. Hand sanitizer is available. Parking is limited so car pooling is enouraged. MUCH to SiNG. Email [email protected] to make a choral request. Children of singers are welcome to hang out, draw pictures, do puzzles and the like. Rices Mills is a family friendly venue.
