BLAUVELT, NY — Amazon Logistics announced it's opening a new delivery station in Rockland County to speed up "last mile" operations. It will be located in Blauvelt on Oritani Drive and is expected to open in 2020. Amazon said the operation will create hundreds of full time and part time jobs. Delivery stations aren't just for Amazon's logistics arm to supplement capacity and flexibility. They are also available to other businesses. Amazon officials said they offer entrepreneurs the opportunity to build their own business delivering Amazon packages and offer independent contractors the flexibility to be their own boss and create their own schedule delivering for Amazon Flex.
