An Evening with John N. Maclean at The Independent! Reserve your spot for a night with John N. Maclean, who joins us to share excerpts from his memoir, Home Waters: A Chronicle of Family and a River. Maclean's telling of how his family spent generations loving and fishing the Blackfoot River unveils the true stories of the people behind the characters in his father's beloved A River Runs Through It, sharing the chronicles of family, fishing, and growing up along the shores of the Blackfoot River. As described through his own words, Home Waters is "a universal story about the power of place to shape families, and a celebration of the art of fishing....portraying the inextricable ways our personal histories are linked to the places we come from - our home waters". The presentation will open with an introduction by author and journalist Todd Wilkinson, and books will be available for purchase, courtesy of Bozeman-based The Country Bookshelf.
