Description
We will conduct oral histories to learn about historic neighborhoods on James and Johns Islands. Refreshments will be served.
The South Carolina DOT and New South Associates want to hear
from current or former residents of James and Johns Islands to help
gather information about these important historic African American
settlement communities.
We will be recording oral histories and invite you to bring your historic
photos and other historic documents, which we can scan and digitize
on site.
To schedule a time slot for an oral history interview, which will take
approximately one hour, please contact New South Historian ReneƩ
at [email protected] or 770-498-4155 ext. 150.
