PEARL RIVER, NY — Residents in the Pearl River school district voted overwhelmingly to approve the $70.99 million2020-21 school budget. In unofficial totals the vote was Yes – 2472, No - 857. Proposition 2, asking voters to approve $7 million more for increased costs of the capital improvement project passed by a closer margin, but still more than 2 to 1: Yes – 2291 No - 1027Kathleen Ann Kelley won the seat on the Board of Education: Eric Foote - 485Daniel Hooker - 1039Kathleen Ann Kelley - 1505Pearl River Public Library's budget passed by 2413 'yes' votes to 932 'no' votes. Donna Warren was unopposed for the library trustee seat. This year, residents voted by absentee ballot due to the new coronavirus outbreak.
