ORANGETOWN, NY — A crash Monday at the intersection of Bataan Road and Western Highway injured several people, one a pedestrian. Two drivers were involved, both 19, Orangetown police said.
An officer came across the crash while on patrol and called for multiple ambulances. South Orangetown Ambulance Corps, Rockland Paramedics, Pearl River Ambulance Corps and Piermont Ambulance Corps all assisted at the scene. The injured were transported to Nyack Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2012 Hyundai Sonata was traveling south on Western Highway and a 2017 Jeep Wrangler was going west on Bataan Road. When the two drivers, both 19, collided, the impact forced both vehicles toward the sidewalk where they hit a pedestrian, also 19 years old, police said.
Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information about it to call the Accident Investigation Team at 845-359-3700.
