BROOKHAVEN, NY - If you're looking for a new companion, consider starting your search at a local animal shelter like the Brookhaven Animal Shelter. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, many pets are still looking for their forever homes and shelters are still working to fulfill adoptions. One of their available pets is Sunny, a 5 to 6-year-old female mixed breed. Here's a full description of Sunny from the Brookhaven Animal Shelter page: This beauty is Sunny! She is currently homeless and hopeful. Sunny is looking for a family to love, a place to call home and bed of her own. She is quite the looker and those eyes will melt you and you can't overlook those ears. She arrived with Lyme and a Pyometra that was found when she went into be spayed. She has been treated and has recovered from both. Sunny is like a cat in that when she wants attention she wants it and when she doesn't she likes her space. She will let you know when she wants your pets or to go for a walk which she does beautifully on leash. She is housebroken, very calm, well mannered and not a fan of being crated or kenneled, she prefers to just be in her bed, Sunny has several friends at the shelter and is always happy to see them and go for a walk. She will do best as the only pet in an adult household. Sunny knows sit, down, paw and she takes treats very gently. She is estimated to be five to six years young, 79 pounds, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, micro-chipped and heart-worm negative. To find out more information on Sunny, check out his profile here.
