BOSTON — A woman from Boston was arrested after Transit police say she punched and robbed an elderly man in a wheelchair at an MBTA bus station Monday afternoon.
Malina Stacy, 25, is facing charges of unarmed robbery and assault and battery on an elderly person, transit police said.
An 84-year-old wheelchair-bound man told patrolling officers at Boston's Nubian Square bus station that he had been attacked and robbed.
An initial investigation showed that a woman had punched the man, removing cash from his pocket after he initially turned her down when she asked for money.
Police say the woman, later identified as Stacy, ran away, boarding an MBTA bus, before she was tracked down near Washington Street. Police say they were able to recover the victim's money.
Stacy is expected to appear in court Tuesday.
