First Steps 4-H Archery

Description

This 2 day, 4-H archery class is intended for youth 8 yrs. old (by Sept. 2, 2021) and up with little or no formal archery training. We use Matthews Genesis and traditional recurve bows. Instruction includes equipment nomenclature, safety rules, range rules, etiquette and shot sequence. All bows and arrows and targets are provided. Participants need only show up ready to receive training and ready to enjoy different shooting games. This is a two-day class, approximately 60-90 minutes sessions for each day. At the end of the course, the youth participant will be experienced enough to join one of our existing archery clubs and participate in our Next Steps Archery class. Event information: Food and/snacks will not be provided. Hat, sunscreen and a refillable water bottle are recommended. A parent or legal guardian is required to be with the youth participant for both sessions of this 2 day class.
