Patchogue Theatre Preparing For Reopening, Re-Hires 2 Employees

PATCHOGUE, NY — Patchogue Theatre recently announced updates after it shut its doors and was forced to let go its employees due to the coronavirus crisis. The iconic local venue announced last month that it was closing down the theater under September 1 after originally shuttering in March. However, pending the guidelines issued by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, that date could change. In addition, the theater was forced to lay off all of its employees including the its eight full-time employees and multiple part-time employees. On Tuesday, the organization announced that it was taking the first steps to prepare for re-opening. In a statement, theater representatives said two former staff members were re-hired to start working immediately. PR and Marketing Director Jodi Giambrone and Box Office Manager Justin Pandolfi were both rehired. "Nothing is certain at the moment for anyone. What we can do is continue to stay prepared, plan for reopening, and engage our audience," Giambrone said. Both will be working to re-open while still adhering to "social distancing" guidelines. "The current pandemic has created challenges from Lincoln Center to the Sydney Opera House, but we are confident that we will emerge better than ever,"a statement from the organization read.
