Accused Manchester Bank Robber Who Fled On Bicycle Charged: Warrant

MANCHESTER, CT — A 58-year-old man who fled Manchester a bank robbery on a bicycle has been charged in that case plus and unrelated theft case that also took place in town, police said. Warrants were served in both cases Monday, police said. The bank robbery dates back to last week at the 285 Broad St. branch of People's United Bank inside the Parkade Stop & Shop. At about 6:20 p.m. on May 5, a man passed a note to a teller and demanded money. No weapon was displayed or implied. After receiving money from the teller, the male reportedly left the area prior to police arrival on a bicycle, heading south bound toward Green Manor Boulevard, according to warrant excerpts. Photographs of the suspect were obtained from surveillance footage of this incident: (Manchester Police Department) The suspect was then identified as 58 year old Jeffrey Richloff. An arrest warrant for Richloff was obtained by investigators, police said, and on Monday members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force learned that Richloff was staying at the Hawthorne Inn and Suites, 191 Spencer St. According to police, a team of Manchester officers with the ECNTF made contact with Richloff there and took him into custody. Richloff was also a suspect in the theft of crane radiator that occurred Dec. 2 at Shawmut Equipment Inc., 20 Tolland Turnpike. Felony warrants for both incidents were served, and pursuant to the warrants, he was charged with: Larceny in the third degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree for the Shawmut theft Third-degree larceny in the bank case Richloff is being held on bonds totaling $50,000 and was scheduled to appear in court at GA-12 on June 6, police said.
