HAMDEN, CT — A 15-year-old boy was killed in Monday's shooting in Hamden, police said in an update on Monday night. Police said the victim was a Hamden resident and his identity isn't being released as officers and detectives are notifying family members. UPDATE: Victim Identified In Fatal Shooting In Hamden: Police Original post: HAMDEN, CT — A person was shot to death Monday afternoon in Hamden, according to police. Police responded to the Farmington Canal Linear Park, near Treadwell Street, around 2:30 p.m. on the report of shots fired, according to Detective Sean J. Dolan. Dolan said responding officers found a gunshot victim on the canal line. First responders attempted "life resuscitation efforts" and the victim was later pronounced dead at the scene, according to Dolan. Detectives from the Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit are "actively investigating the shooting as an apparent homicide investigation," Dolan said. The victim's identity isn't being released until next of kin is notified, according to Dolan.
