HAMDEN, CT — Several historical structures at Sleeping Giant State Park have recently been vandalized, according to officials.
"The Park has seen a recent uptick in severe and extensive defacement of structures in the Quarry that are of historical importance," according to a post on the Sleeping Giant Park Association's Facebook page. "Clean-up will cost thousands of dollars."
Officials said photos of two young men who were seen committing the most recent vandalism have been turned over to park security.
"Defacing historic buildings such as those one finds at Sleeping Giant State Park is a felony," the post reads. "In addition to a fine, the perpetrator will be charged the cost of cleanup."
