BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department Candlewood Company will be hosting a combined boating and personal watercraft course on Saturday, open to the public. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be provided with a certificate of completion and possess the requirements necessary for the state's Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation, which includes the Safe Waterskiing Endorsement. All are required to have a conservation ID number from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection before taking the course. The IDs are available for free online here. Licenses may be printed using the same link on the same day as course completion. The course fee is $89. Payment and registration may be accomplished online here. The location is the BVFD fire house at 18 Bayview Drive in Brookfield, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on May 14.
